The inaugural Race for Good, hosted by The Salvation Army, concluded with an overwhelming turnout, showcasing a collective commitment to running and walking for a noble cause. Bringing together a diverse community, the event witnessed a remarkable assembly of runners and walkers from all walks of life, rising early to champion the cause of vulnerable children, the elderly, ex-offenders and their families, as well as migrant workers in Singapore. Together, this vibrant community rallied to raise both awareness and an awe-inspiring $225,000.

A notable presence at the event was Minister Ms Gan Siow Huang, a staunch supporter of The Salvation Army’s initiatives. Ms Gan kicked off the event with motivational words, urging everyone present to embrace the spirit of giving in every facet of their lives. Emphasizing the transformative power of Love Beyond, she underscored the potential to positively impact those in our immediate circles, fostering a ripple effect for the betterment of Singaporean society.

Undeterred by the initial morning shower and looming clouds, our 8.88km runners exuded unwavering enthusiasm as they awaited the starting signal. Ms Gan, officially commenced the 8.8km run, setting the tone for an invigorating day. As the sun emerged from the clouds, participants in the 5km and 3km runs mirrored the same fervor. The day culminated with the Family Walk, allowing families to enjoy a leisurely stroll amidst the scenic backdrop of Gardens by the Bay.

Post-events, participants congregated around our vibrant fair, where booths from The Salvation Army and external vendors offered games, magic tricks, and a delightful frozen fruit popsicle stand. Laughter and joy filled the air as attendees learned more about The Salvation Army’s impactful causes.

A heartfelt expression of gratitude extends to our sponsors, partners, and supporters for their invaluable contributions. Equally, we extend our thanks to the participants whose enthusiasm and dedication played a pivotal role in making this event a resounding success. Anticipate Race for Good 2024, as we strive to return with an even greater triumph, continuing our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
