HTG BPFSC1

The Bukit Panjang Family Service Centre (BPFSC) provides student care before and after school hours. Our programme provides opportunities for children’s growth by supervising them in studies and through informal learning activities.

Student Care

To provide social recreational activities to meet the needs of children in terms of physical, mental and personal growth.

To foster positive relationship-building friendships and develop such among neighbourhood children and between BPFSC children and staff. The adults serve as role models passing on socially acceptable and healthy values and attitudes to the children.

The children in BPFSC have opportunities to learn socially- acceptable moral principles, values and attitudes. During school holidays constructive leisure activities are organised.

Children with learning difficulties are provided individual attention through volunteers.

Special needs children are given an opportunity to integrate with other children.

To provide positive care and family support programmes for parents as well as children from single-parent families and needy families.

To provide financial assistance to low-income families and families going through financial crises. (e.g. due to unemployment, medical reasons)

The children are given an opportunity to participate in intergenerational events so that they grow up understanding that the elderly are a part of our society.

Elderly Drop-In Programme (Weekly)

BPSC staff organise outings and recreational activities to help promote productive and interesting opportunities to engage the elderly. The aim is to reach out to disadvantaged elderly in the neighbouring housing blocks, encouraging them to interact with others of their age and to be stimulated by what they do and see so as their lives will be more interesting and less lonely. BPFSC also provide food parcels to those who need assistance.

To provide appropriate activities, for the needy and lonely elderly so that, they are not isolated from the community. Through our activities we want the elderly to reduce a sense of helplessness within them.

To be a body that the elderly can turn to when they face a crisis.

To provide financial assistance and monthly food parcel distributions to the needy elderly.

To provide an opportunity to mingle around with others of their age group and develop meaningful relationships.

To give the elderly an opportunity to participate in intergenerational activities.
