One mistake in life need not mean a sealed fate, especially when the person is young and may have been misled. This is why The Salvation Army believes in giving young people another chance in their lives.
Gracehaven is a residential home that cares for up to 160 young persons. Dedicated staff seek to encourage each young person to reach their potential and discover their strengths and talents.
The ultimate goal is to help the young person to get back on the right track and return home to his/her family.
GRACEHAVEN TURNS 20!
To commemorate the journey travelled for the last 20 years, the Home is holding a Charity Dinner entitled "A GRACEFUL JOURNEY" at Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel on 12 November 2010.
Show your support by buying one table at $2,000 or a seat at $200. Guests can expect heart-warming performances by current and ex-residents as well as a special video presentation.
Your contribution will make a difference in the life of every young person who enters Gracehaven.

Programmes
Gracehaven provides a safe, caring and conducive environment for a wide variety of positive learning experiences.
Counselling and Guidance
Gracehaven staff work toward building a close relationship with the young people. Seeking to be a friend, counsellor and teacher, helping them overcome their past and face the future with a positive attitude.
Academic Programmes
The education of the young resident is a priority. Many have lost precious school time due to bad experiences and neglect. Help is given to meet their educational needs.
Sports and Outdoor Activities
The young people enjoy recreational activities, such as football, on a large playing field. It is also used for gatherings and carnivals to raise funds to support the ongoing ministry of Gracehaven.
Music, Drama and Art
Gracehaven encourages its young residents to experience music and drama. Many have discovered unknown talents in percussion groups, singing, dancing and acting. A comprehensive art programme is another option for young people to nurture their creativity. These activities have provided an avenue for them to freely express themselves.
Shared Care
Parents or guardians are encouraged to continue their responsibilities to care for the young persons through home-leave periods, outings and visitations. The ultimate goal of gracehaven residential care is to see every young person return to their own homes and families, changed for the better.
